Notes

Grandma moved a number of times over her lifetime, mostly due to the fact that Grandpa worked in the oil fields. As one oil field declined, they would move to another, more active field. From the events in her life, I have made up the following list. Where I have documentation, I have listed it. Otherwise, it comes from personal knowledge or conversations I have had with Grandma and other family members. - Harriette:

1898-1917 Crescent, Logan, OK
1917 -1921 Wichita, Sedgwick, KS 1,4, 5, 6
1922 Washunga, Kay, OK 3
1924-1927? They were in Texas, near San Antonio, as I have pictures of them with my mother (aged 2 through about 5) taken at their home on the oilfields. Those pictures were developed and printed in San Antonio.

General:

As a child, Grandma's nickname was 'Junk', a name given to her by her dad, who apparently had a penchant for giving unflattering nicknames. One of her other sisters was called "Stumpy". She completed the eight grade and taught school for a while. She also sold tickets at her father's roller rink until her marriage.
Grandma was always 'nursing' someone. She had been a midwife in Oklahoma. When her sister Ada had a massive stroke and was bedridden for years, she took care of her. In her late 50s, she finally made it official by getting a certificate as a Practical Nurse.
I was told that grandpa and grandma went to KS to get married because they were first cousins (their mothers were sisters) and that was illegal in OK.

Marriage:
From Sedgwick Co. KS Marriage Records 1:

Hoisington, Clara Morris, J.F. 18-Oct-17 U099

Death:

At age 63, she had a massive stroke. She died from pneumonia, caught while she was in the hospital.
