Army. Sergeant in Col Seth Warner's Regt. Also private for 3 days of
Aug. 1780 Capt John Marcy's Company under Col. Ebenezer Wood, and private
9 days in Lieut. Asahel Smth's Co of Militia which marched to Fort
Fortitude Oct 20 1780 by order of Col. Samuel Stafford' -Harry Hoisington quoting from Hoisington genealogy by Almon Kidder
"Elias served three years in Seth Warner's Green Mountain Regiment. He served in Quebec and at the battles of Hubbardton and Bennington. Later, after his enlistment expired, he served at other times, once as part of the garrison at Fort Fortitude at Bethel. Fort Fortitude was garrisoned until October 31, 1782. Perhaps while there he had scouted up in Little Hollow and had told his son Sayles about the area." 2
