Ferdinand R. Hoisington was born in Morgan county, Ohio, May 20, 1843 and departed this life November 29, 1922 at 0 the home of his son William in Guysville. 0Aged 79 years, five months and 29 days. 0 On October 2, 1861 he was unitied in marriage to Susan Elizabeth McCulough. To the union was born twelve children, eight sons and four daughters. 0 Three sons Frank, Charles, George and one daughter Fannie have preceded him in death. 0 The wife died May 17, 1922. On the sixth of August 1862 he was enlisted in the army to serve three years or so during the war. 0 He was a good soldier, always to be found at the place of duty, participating in all the engagements and lined and performing faithful and meritorious service. 0 He received an honorable discharge on the tenth day of June,1865 by reason of close of the war. At the age of 52 he was converted and unitied with the M. E. church and later he transferred his membership to the Hebbardsville Presbyterian church of which church was a member at the time of his death. He leaves to mourn their loss; eight children, William of Guysville, Silas and Fred of Athens, John of near Albany; Harry of 0 Fisher; Mrs. Lydia Wires of Cleveland; Mrs. Jennie Robinson of Circle Hill and Mrs. Rebecca Wale of Toledo. 0 Thirty-nine grandchildren and a number of greatgrandchildren. 0 He also reared a grandson Dewey Porter Hoisington who gave his life for his country during the second world war.
