Notes
General:
The following note was written by Harry Hoisington:'Wrote 65A (Kidder) June 25, 1870 from Westport NY (Essex Co.) [See below]
On June 25, 1870, G.B. Hoisington wrote to L.C. Draper, from Westport NY:'I am a son of Marcus Hoisington to whom you wrote concerning the Genealogy of the Hoisington Family. He cannot trace our ancestors farther back than to James Hoisington Junior - of his descendants, we are the only ones bearing the name, of the sisters of James Hoisington Junior, I can obtain information in regard to Elizabeth and perhaps of Lydia.... Yours truly, G.B. Hoisington'Question: From this it would seem that G.B. is the son of Marcus Jr., as according to Mrs. Palmer Marcus Sr. was deceased by 1870. It would be interesting to know whether there continue to be descendants of James Hoisington Jr. in the Essex County area.'
