"Mrs. S.C. Guernsey had purchased Block 180. Rachel Hoisington was listed as being buried Sept. 15, 1878 in Lot Six, Grave Eight. No headstone to idenitfy her remains. There was also a Mrs. Hoisington in Grave 2, same lot, no stone and no other info. I went to thecourthouse to see what I could find. ...Did find a Louisa Hoisington, b. Oct. 8, 1836 in Vermont to Amos and Clarissa Munn Hoisington (both born Vermont). She died April 21, 1917 at 80 years of age. She was listed as female, white, and single, but as a housewife for occupation. Didn't quite understand that! Perhaps she is the unknown Mrs.H in Grave 2. There was a number of Guernsey kin in the same lot, but didn't find William H. [Hoisington] There was one really old pillar stone, but totally unreadable. " - Darla Deringer
